Privacy policy

The GROW-FOREST Association, Creation of New Forests – Vienna is responsible for the processing of your personal data on this website. Please send your questions about data protection to office@grow-forest.eu.

Data protection

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We process your personal data in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

The use of our website is generally possible without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our website, this is always done on a voluntary basis.

Processor, recipient

We process your personal data with the support of processors who support us in providing the services (e.g. web hosting, IT service providers, donation tool).

These processors are obliged to strictly protect your personal data and may not process your personal data for any purpose other than to provide our services.

Your personal data will only be passed on to typical business service providers such as banks (in the case of bank transfers to you), tax consultants (if you appear in our accounts) and other parties necessarily involved in the process (in the case of mailings and news from the association) etc.

Contact form / Inquiry form / Donation form

After submitting the form, the personal data entered by you will be processed by the data controller for the purpose of processing your request on the basis of your consent given by submitting the form.

There is no legal or contractual obligation to provide personal data. The only consequence of not providing it is that you will not be able to submit your request and we will not be able to process it.

You have the right to withdraw your consent in writing at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Further processing of the data, which is compatible with the original processing purpose, takes place on the same legal basis for the purpose of direct marketing in forms that do not require consent, such as the addressed postal dispatch of advertising, until objection is made.

You have the right to object to the use of your personal data for the purpose of direct marketing at any time by written notification. In the event of an objection, your personal data will no longer be processed for the purpose of direct advertising.

Donations and donation stations

On our website (using donation forms), at information stands or in personal discussions, we offer you the opportunity to financially support the national and international work of GROW-FOREST, Creating New Forests. The following personal data will be processed as part of the donation process:

  • Salutation (gender)
  • First and last name
  • E-mail address
  • Date of birth
  • Phone number
  • Postal address
  • Donation volume and payment method
  • Account details (for direct debit authorization)

The transmission of name, date of birth, zip code and annual amount to the tax office takes place automatically, so that your donation is taken into account for deductibility in the tax assessment. However, this data will not be transmitted to the tax office if you expressly prohibit this by sending an e-mail with “STOP donation deductibility” and your data to office@grow-forest.eu.

We make every effort and are obliged under data protection law to keep your address data as up-to-date as possible.

The provider of our donation forms (individual donations, recurring donations, donation campaigns) is the company Direct Mind (WIKANDO GmbH, Schießgrabenstraße 32, 86150 Augsburg, Bavaria Germany). Wikando GmbH is contractually obliged by us to comply with data protection regulations and may only use personal data for the agreed purpose of properly processing your donation.
Our donation forms are accessed securely via a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection and their data is transmitted securely. You can recognize the secure transmission by a closed lock in the status bar of your Internet browser. Your data is encrypted on the way from your computer to us and can only be read again on our server.

If you donate by credit card, your credit card details are transmitted exclusively via 256-bit SSL encryption to our certified and audited provider, where the accuracy of the card details is checked with the respective credit card company and the creditworthiness and validity are verified. We do not store your credit card details.

Title, first name, surname, address, zip code and town are mandatory fields, as this is the only way we can guarantee a clear allocation of your donation in our database.
Furthermore, the provision of name data and bank details is required for the conclusion of the donation and due to tax regulations and money laundering regulations.
